J Schatz Studio is a Detroit ceramic studio founded by Jim Schatz, working in high-fired stoneware to make lighting, objects, vessels, tabletop pieces, and design-forward products for birds. Each piece is hand-built to order in limited annual editions, using proprietary glazes and finishes developed over decades in the studio. The work is grounded in permanence — dense materials, considered surfaces, forms made to last and to be lived with.
