A gallery and design space by Jim Schatz and Peter Souza Jr.
Take Me Home is a gallery and design space at the Cadillac Arts Centre in Little Village, Detroit. Founded by Jim Schatz of J Schatz Studio and artist Peter Souza Jr., the space presents their collaborative work in clay and wood alongside sculpture, objects, and one-of-a-kind pieces from the studio.
Programming centers on material practice — ceramics, wood, and the conversations that happen between them. Take Me Home sits between gallery and design space, presenting collectible work in a setting closer to a working studio than a white cube.
The space opened in March 2026 with Radical Presence, an inaugural exhibition of new collaborative work including a series of seven hybrid clay-and-wood totems. On view now is Surface, ceramic and wood sculpture by Schatz and Souza, through October 31.
"Take Me Home is about objects that people feel drawn to live with," says Schatz. "Pieces that carry presence and invite connection."
"A place rooted in collaboration," adds Souza. "Where materials, objects, and people come together."
Exhibitions, collectible design, and new collaborative work by Schatz and Souza continue through the year. Take Me Home is part of the Cadillac Arts Centre alongside In Thicket Books, bowerbird home, and Amend Detroit, a living installation by artist Allana Clarke.
Open Friday through Sunday, 12–6 PM. 1533 Cadillac Blvd · Detroit, MI 48214
