A New Store and Gallery by Jim Schatz & Peter Souza
Artists Jim Schatz of J Schatz Studio and Peter Souza Jr are opening a new retail space in Detroit’s Little Village neighborhood. Called Take Me Home, the store will present their collaborative work in clay and wood alongside select pieces that invite intimacy, curiosity, and delight.
Take Me Home is both a gallery and a retail store — a place where sculptural forms, functional objects, and design-driven pieces blur the lines between art and daily life. The name embodies the spirit of the work: sensual, playful, and rooted in connection.
“Take Me Home is about more than objects,” says Schatz. “It’s about creating pieces that seduce you, that feel alive, and that want to be part of your life."
“We’re building a space of collaboration and intimacy,” adds Souza. “A store that is as much about experience as it is about what you take with you.”
Located in Little Village Detroit, Take Me Home will open its doors in November 2025.
