Jim Schatz and Peter Souza Jr. work at the intersection of ceramic and wood — two materials, two practices, in conversation. Their collaborative pieces emerge from sustained dialogue between Schatz's stoneware and Souza's constructed wood forms, each artist responding to and shaping the other's contribution. The work resists single authorship; neither artist could produce it alone. Based in Detroit, the collaboration extends a friendship and shared studio practice into objects that carry both makers' hands. Their work appears at Take Me Home, a gallery co-founded by Schatz and Souza in 2025.
